Vintage 60’s Brass Enamel Tie Hat Lapel Pin “Buque Escuela Esmeralda Chile”

Description

This lapel pin was given to me by a crew member of the Buque Escuela Esmeralda when I visited the ship during it’s stopover in my home town of Punta Arenas, Chile, in the early 1960’s.  It is a beautifully detailed depiction of the Chilean Tall Training Ship called the Esmeralda which was commissioned in 1954 and still sails the seven seas for the Chilean navy.  The pin is blue enamel with a detailed etching of the 4-masted ship sailing past a snow-capped mountain range,  On the top is etched “B/E ESMERALDA “, and below the ship is etched “CHILE”.
It measures 1 3/8” x 13/16”, and fastens with a safety pin closure.
I ship free within the USA on the same day as receiving payment, using recycled packaging materials whenever possible.
