The Travers Papers. United States Postal History and Postage Stamps - Volumes I and II - 1834 - 1851.
Compiled by Thomas J. Alexander, George W. Brett & W. Wilson Hulme II.  Edited by Barbara R. Mueller in cooperation with the Smithsonian National Postal Museum, Washington, D.C.
This work tells the complete story of the development of the first U.S. postage stamps. It is considered to be one of the most important books ever published in U.S. philately.  While most of the pages contain text, there are a number of illustrated pages in color, as shown.
The two volumes have dust jackets and are contained in a slip box.  Each volume has over 600 pages.
The books, dust jackets and slip box are all in excellent condition, like new!
