Offered for sale is this very rare San Francisco Newspaper publication titled, CALIFORNIA WEEKLY COURIER PER STEAMERS PANAMA AND ISTHMUS.......SAN FRANCISCO APRIL 15, 1851 in fair overall condition. It is just full of early California history including Gold Rush Mining articles, local early news, business articles, and even Indians in Los Angeles. It really shows early obstacles for California concerning the growth happening at the time. There is some early advertising also. This is an early ORIGINAL newspaper and not a modern reprint. The California Weekly Courier was published from 1850 until 1860 making 1851 an early example. It measures about 24" by 18" and when opened up goes to about 24" by 36". There is wear on the edges and corners with some small tears as to be expected. It has light foxing and yellowing also to be expected. The paper is still very pliable and readable. This is a wonderful early example of California history and would make a fine addition to any serious public or private collection.
