Being offered is a vintage, antique, edition of the Harpers Weekly, A Journal of Civilization newspaper. The paper is dated April 1860. The main topic of the paper has the Democratic convention held in Charleston South Carolina. There are engravings depicting the event. This was the pre civil war election. The paper has other news of the day and period along with some neat advertising on the back pages. The paper does show age and wearing in places. There is a black cloth binding on the left side holding the paper together. The paper was folded at some time and has a tear on the right side at the crease approx. 1 5/8" long. There is some age related discoloration in places and some edge dings or bruises, but overall intact with no other issues noted. The paper has 7 double sided pages or 14 individual pages and is approx. 15 3/8" by 11".Please feel free to contact me with any questions about my items.
