    Offered here is an historic issue of the prominent New Hampshire colonial newspaper THE PORTSMOUTH ORACLE, Saturday, December 11, 1819, Vol. XXX, No. 50, 12 3/4" x 19 3/4" (folded sheet), published by Charles Turell, 4 pp.  Lengthy, important p. 2-3 "President's Message" [President James Monroe speaking on the Treaty with Spain, state of currency, etc.]; also, a powerful anti-slavery poem on p. 4 ["The Negro's Complaint"] and a "Eulogy On [George] Washington," and a fine ad for John Abbot, Jr. [Gold & Silver Smith].  Folds, some edge wear, light toning/ scattered foxing, otherwise in very good condition for age.
